Last Saturday we joined very interesting seminar about new discipline called Hoopers, led by Sandra Aerns with help of Helga Nagels. Hoopers have some similarities with agility, however instead on jumps hopes are used and dog needs to go through. They also use barrels and gates which needs to be circled and tunnels. The handler movement is limited with “handler-square” markings, out of which is not allowed to move. He can help the dog with voice and body language…. hoopers teach dog to work on distance, just relied on the handler voice and body language. Great sport appropriate for almost all breed types and ages, which help strengthen the bond between dog and the handler.
